I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Upon graduating from college, I decided to see a bit of the world. I have now traveled, studied, worked and lived in over 50 countries on 5 continents, spending extended periods of time in Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia, Brazil, England, The Czech Republic, East Timor, Myanmar, Angola, Senegal and Chad. After years of traveling and living in developing countries and becoming increasingly interested in understanding the causes of the poverty, conflict and poor health that plague many of the world’s countries, I decided to make a career of attempting to find and facilitate solutions to these problems. I have master’s degrees in public health and international development and specialize in control of infectious diseases and improvement of child health and survival in developing countries. For the past few years I have been managing malaria control programs in Angola, Chad and Myanmar.
