Born and raised on the small island of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea - a basin of diversity bringing North, South, East and West together, I was uninterested in international affairs until I understood the important role of individuals in shaping the events which in turn shape society and the world at large. Perhaps overly idealistic in this regard, I have worked extensively to make my own contribution, specifically in the field of human rights and human rights education. I've worked with Amnesty International Malta Group, and also as a project development freelancer, including a collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner for Children and Ministry of Education. In 2006, I was a Youth Delegate to the United Nations, as advisor with the Maltese Permanent Mission at the United Nations Headquarters on the Third Committee. I am now Director of the People for Change Foundation, and Editor and Branch Secretary of the Malta Red Cross First Malta Branch. I am a sociology and international relations student at the University of Malta, fields which I hope to pursue in the future. I remain committed to empowerment and participation, specifically of young people, and believe that harnessing people's potential and dreams is the only way forward for democracy and development.
